He has published research regarding pulmonary infectious disease, lung cancer, lung disease in diabetics, and lung disease following exposure of the 9/11 New York City World Trade Center bombings.

He speaks both English and Italian, and he has presented his research at conferences throughout the US, and in China and Japan.
